Voice to the street 4.0 OShodi Project
Project Summary
To add a little flavor to VTS 4.0 we decided to host two events. One was the Bake sales which was preliminary to the main VTS 4.0 outreach. This was a means to sensitize the public about SDG 4 and bake to raise funds for VTS 4.0.
Another flavor we added was Vocational Training. We picked hand skill that can be learnt within 3 hours to empower the children of Oshodi with skills that they could use to make a living instead of just roaming on the street. We had Bag making, Shoe Making, Bead making and simple robotics classes. We didn’t leave out our counselling sessions with the children and their parents. We listened to the children and the parents and suggested ways of solving the problem of lack of education. We also provided educational materials.
Our Cloth drive was wonderful as well. We had one in Oshodi and took the remaining clothes to Makoko. We also sponsored three fatherless children this year in Ken Ade Primary School in Makoko.
